Japanese quail (Coturnix japonica) is a common avian species used as a model for studying reproductive and physiological functions. Liver and Bursa of Fabricius are two important organs involved in various metabolic and immunological processes. Previous research has shown that these organs exhibit sexual dimorphism and may be affected by genetic selection for certain traits in quail. This study aims to investigate the histological structures of liver and Bursa of Fabricius in two-line selection female and male Japanese quail. Liver and bursa were collected from both lines at 35 days of age. The hypatocytes in both strains is same in ranged and it sphirical in female but polyhidral in male , the sinosoids seen narrow in brown female and male compared with black, the artary in black strain seen more wide than in brown, the portal vein also had a large lumen in black than brown. The two strain have same characters of tissues in bursa of Fabricius but the cortex of black is larger than brown (female and male )and more eosinophilic in addition to present of adipose cells distributed in the bursa of Fabricius of black strain more than in the brown.

Liver cancer is the most common type of cancer, it take place due to several toxic materials and drugs metabolism in our life . the surgical intervention is the main solution for treatment of liver cancer . In this study we investigate the efficiency of Vernonia amygdalina (VA) leafs phenolic extracts against hepatic tumor and renal injury induced by thioacetamide (TAA). Fourty adult males rats were used for this study and divided randomly into four equal groups (10 animals for each group) , First negative (G1) Group was given distilled water, Second positive group (G2) was IP injected with 200 mg/kg inter of TAA twice a week, While the third group (G3) was gavaged 100 mg/kg (VA), The last group (G4) taken 200 mg/kg of TAA and 100 mg/kg (VA) , After 14 weeks , the following parameters were measure ALP , ALT , AST , TB , Urea , Cr , TGF-β , A-II , Renin, ACE , ,MDA , GSH, SOD , ,TNF-α and IL-10 to evaluation the effectiveness of Vernonia amygdalina(VA) leafs extracts . the result showed that treatment with VA enhance normal liver and kidney function as well as show its effectiveness against liver cancer and renal abnormalities .

Due to the accompanying hazards of cytotoxicity and systemic diseases following intake of such metals, especially in areas with rising industrial and agricultural activity, exposure to heavy metals through chicken consumption is a crucial issue for human health. In Kurdistan Region-Iraq, poultry meat and their products (especially local chicken) are widely consumed from population. On the point of view the present study was conducted to access the concentration levels of Cadmium (Cd), Copper (Cu) and Lead (Pb) heavy metals from some selected regions of Sulaymaniyah province (Bazyan, Dukan, Mergapan and Tanjaro) were measured in different body parts (breast and liver) of backyard chicken using Thermo Fisher Scientific inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-OES). The results revealed that the residues of cadmium (Cd) in both samples (meat and liver) from all regions were within the permissible limit (0.3 mg/kg) by FAO/WHO, except Dukan region for liver sample, which recorded the value (0.355 mg/kg). The concentration of Copper (Cu) in meat and liver samples of all regions was exceeding than the permissible limit (0.3 mg/kg), levels proposed by FAO/WHO and the highest concentration was detected in of Dukan followed by Mergapan (11.541 and 11.372 mg/kg) respectively for liver sample. Lead (Pb) was found exceeding the permissible limit levels of 0.1 mg/kg in the liver samples of all the regions (0.147–0.729 mg/kg), except for Mergapan which recorded low value (0.091 mg/kg). Concerning Pb concentration in breast samples the value from Dukan and Tanjaro (0.118 and 0.149 mg/kg) was exceeding the permissible limit, while from Bazyan and Mergapan (0.082 and 0.022) the value was within permissible limit. As the most consumed section of the chicken has been determined to be among the tissues with the least contamination, liver, which is often less consumed by the local populace as compared to meat, was discovered to have relatively higher metal concentrations.

The diet is the main rout of exposer of heavy metals; therefore the evaluation of these metals in human’s dietary intake is important. The study examined the concentration of some residues of heavy metals (copper, Arsenic and Lead ) in different poultry products such as chicken frozen thigh and breast muscle originating from Brazil and Turkey, Etimad and Shemal local company chicken frozen thigh and breast muscle, local quail frozen thigh and breast muscle as well as local quail eggs. The results of the study indicated that the highest concentrations of Copper (Co) and Arsenic ( As) were found in Brazilian frozen thigh and breast muscles compared with other products. However, the concentrations of these metals were within permissible and safe for human consumption. Lead (Pb) concentrations chicken frozen thigh and breast muscle originating from Brazil was found to be high (p≤0.05) and above permissible level than chicken and quail frozen meat as well as eggs.

In order to illustrate the histological changes in kidney and liver associated with water drinking of ethylene glycol (EG) in domestic pigeons (Columba liviadomestica), 24 adult birds, weighing 350- 400 grams, aged 9-12 months were used, for the period from 5/2/2021- 16/3/2021 at Diyala University - College of Veterinary Medicine. They divided into two equal groups. One group control and other group gives EG with water at concentration 8.5ml/L for three weeks. Histological results illustrated normal structures of kidney and liver in the domestic pigeons of control group. It was observed histological alteration in both organs in the group which received EG such as degeneration of tubular epithelium, cellular infiltration, congestion in kidney, while detect increase inflammatory cell, degeneration, and precipitated materials in the lumen of central vein in liver. It concluded that the EG causes toxic injury to the renal and hepatic tissue in domestic pigeons.

Although; the liver has been studied in several types of birds, but regarding, Muscovy Duck, it is yet not to be done. Thus the current study has been accomplished to identify the anatomical features and recognize the histomorphological architecture and the differences in the structural components of the liver in this bird. The study was achieved on eight birds of both sexes, aged (ten to fifteen) months, slaughtered by the halal method and divided into two groups: anatomical and histological. Anatomical results showed that the liver of Muscovy duck is situated at the cranial part of the celomic cavity; the shape is adapted to the adjacent internal body wall and related organs like the proventriculus, gall bladder and gizzard. Histologically our results revealed that no histological difference between the right and left lobes of liver and it's a large lobed gland enclosed by serosal coat or covering which have a delicate capsule from connective tissue that extends to divided the gland into lobes with less extension to lobules. The liver parenchyma made of hepatic cells called hepatocytes that organized in branching cords that separated via sinusoids and be radiated around the central vein.
