The study was aimed to assess the impact of adding eggshells as calcium sources in broiler diets on carcass traits, meat quality, and chemical composition ,three hundred one-day-old broiler chicks were randomly designed CRD . Each treatment included five replications and each replicate containing twenty birds. The dietary of first treatment was control (0% eggshell) the second and the third treatments were eggshell powder as a replacement for limestone at 50% and 100%, respectively. .The chickens were fed a basal diet during the starting and finished periods. Ten broilers were chosen randomly from each treatment group and slaughtered at age 42 days to evaluate meat quality. The results showed that no significant differences (p< 0.05) between treatments regarding pre-slaughter in live body weight, carcass weight, and percentage of each carcass cuts weight, as well as immunological organs such as the spleen and bursa. However, a substantial difference in dressing percentage was observed. Except for pH, yellowness, and chroma, no significant differences were noticed in drip loss, cooking loss, lightness, redness, color ,tenderness. Meanwhile, the bird chemical composition treatments had no significant differences in moisture, protein, and ash percentages. However, there was a considerable change in fat %. Except for broilers' pH, yellowness, and chroma, the substitution of eggshell powder for limestone resulted in comparable carcass characteristics, chemical composition, and meat quality. The aim of the current study was to explore growth performance and carcass traits using ultrasound measurements of calves of different cattle breeds under pasture and concentration feeding system. A total of 25 male cattle calves between the ages of 6 to 7 months with an average body weight of 162.37 ± 7.7 kg were fed two separate fattening trials for seven months (pasture and finishing period). Animals were divided into five groups (five of each breed): Kurdi, Rustaki, Jenoubi, Herford and Friesian crossbred. The average daily weight gain was similar (P > 0.05) for calves of different cattle breeds during growth (pasture) period, while these values were significantly higher in Kurdi, Rustaki and Friesian crossbred calves during finishing period. The body size measurements were similar among calves of different cattle breeds. The highest increase in Longissimus muscle area and subcutaneous fat thickness was observed in Kurdi, Rustaki and Friesian crossbred calves. In conclusion, Kurdi, Rustaki and Friesian crossbred calves possess the promising potential for beef production under the barn rearing or finishing period.

This study aimed to survey the data collected from several commercial broiler farms in Akre region in order to evaluate the live body weight, carcass traits and their cuts, also to compare commercial projects of poultry in different farms in order to determine the best farm for rearing poultry. Statistical analysis was accomplished using the programme of Statistical Analysis System (SAS), also pairwise correlations among studied traits were determined.At 42 days of age, broilers' live body weight, and dressing percentage averaged 2276.50 g, and 76.52 percent, respectively, and the differences between the 4 farms used in this study were significant in all the mentioned traits. The differences in breast, thigh, back, neck and wing percentages were significant due to the farm and their averages were 36.75%, 25.21%, 18.78%, 5.82% and 8.19% respectively. The lymphoid organs including spleen % and bursa % were averaged 0.155% and 0.179% respectively, and the differences in all the lymphoid traits according to farm were significant. The higher coefficient of correlation (0.78) obtained between breast % and back % and was very highly significant, while the negative and higher value (-0.83) calculated between live body weight and back % and also was very highly significant. It can be concluded that a significant difference was found in all studied traits which may be due to differences in some factors including rearing system. Some of the correlations between each pair of studied traits were positive and highly significant, so to improve some traits, the breeder can focus on measuring other related traits.
