All manuscripts submitted to the Tikrit Journal for Agricultural Sciences (TJAS) are screened for similarity using the iThenticate plagiarism detection software powered by CrossCheck.
Plagiarism is considered a serious violation of publication ethics. Other unethical practices include duplicate publication, data fabrication or falsification, and improper attribution of authorship contributions.
Any manuscript with more than 20% overall similarity (excluding references and titles) will be rejected. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously is strictly prohibited.
All new submissions to TJAS are automatically checked using CrossCheck within the editorial system. Editorial board members may also run a similarity report at any stage during the review process or even post-publication.
A high similarity score does not necessarily mean plagiarism. For example, a score of 30% may indicate 30% overlap with one source or 1% with 30 different sources. Legitimately cited or quoted text may contribute to the score. The editorial board is responsible for interpreting the report and deciding whether there are grounds for concern.
CrossCheck is powered by iThenticate (from iParadigms, providers of Turnitin) and helps editors verify the originality of manuscripts. For more information, please visit: www.ithenticate.com
